This web
site is designed to deal with all forms of abuse within all people
groups and cultures- but I definitely have a bias toward helping those
who are still caught in one form or another in the group that I exited.
Please
read through the survivor stories of the girls at this home. This is
outright human torture, and it makes me livid. What these girls
describe is POW atrocities (i.e. isolation, severe beatings, false
imprisonment, torture, hopelessness, berating, degradation, mind
control, humiliation, etc.) which would most likely result in PTSD as
the very least. And to think that this is happening in the United
States of America is appalling. It takes 90 victims
and decades of abuse before something is reported to the authorities?
Where are the pastors in this area of the country who are aware of
this? Why aren't they out in front leading the charge to eradicate
this abuse?
I hope this website brings every monster to the forefront of our thinking and ultimately to justice. I hope you go to sleep tonight sickened by this and wondering how you can help girls who are put in unlicensed institutions like this one.
How much evidence do groups like this need before they are thoroughly persuaded that they have some serious problems? I understand that these churches and ministries are independent of one another and that means that no one feels responsible, but where’s the public outcry? How many victims of abuse do they need to hear from before they start evaluating their erroneous belief system?
I think its time for this group to stop their “purity crusade” against all other denominations and start rooting out the evil from within. Statements about the abuse victims like: “Their just bitter,” “Their exaggerating the abuse,” “Their taking revenge,” may work in a religious sect who wants to replace accountability with blame and who control the spin of their own media, but it doesn’t work in the real world with people who think for themselves.
There are books being written, news reporters reporting, and years of junk coming to the surface right now in 2008. The years of silence are finally being broken. This is a deep-rooted sickness and it’s now being addressed. How many thousands of people are out there who are waiting to stand up and shout about what they went through while in this IFB sect? It’s time to speak out and it’s time for change.
Here is a description of the Hephzibah House taken from their website:
Hephzibah House operates under the authority of Believers Baptist Church, an independent, fundamental Baptist church, also located in Winona Lake, IN.
