Freedom From Abuse Network: Freedom from emotional, spiritual, sexual, and physical abuse from within Independent Fundamental Baptist/Bible (IFB) churches, christian schools, group homes, and colleges.
Who are the Independent Fundamental Baptists (IFB)?
This website is dedicated to exposing the radical beliefs and abuses within Independent Fundamental Baptist/Bible (IFB) churches, Christian day-schools, Christian camps, colleges, and organizations. The four primary leading organizations within the Independent Fundamental Baptist (IFB) religious sect, which ascribe to some form or another of the "Doctrine of Separation," are:
Jocelyn Zichterman is an advocate for abuse victims from within the Independent Fundamental Baptist/Bible churches in the U.S.
Jocelyn has used her extensive knowledge and expertise to aid law enforcement, the FBI, and Social Service organizations to help bring accountability to IFB abusers/organizations. She has also become passionate about victims of abuse in all cults around the country and is working to ensure laws are stiffened and changed to protect future generations.
Jocelyn is also a mother of 8 children. In her spare time she enjoys reading, writing/researching, running, hiking, acting like "one of the kids," and cracking jokes.
"Working as an abuse advocate can be difficult emotionally. Great challenges lie ahead for those who escape cults. Victims are often forced to come to terms with years, sometimes decades, of emotional, physical and sexual abuse. And as an advocate, if I focused solely on the pain, I'd live in a depressed state day-in and day-out. So instead, I've chosen to infuse my work with comedy, continually looking for as much humor in any given situation as I can find. It keeps me alive inside and looking forward to the future and the changes that can be made when victims break their silence. And besides, I'd much rather laugh than cry."
That said, Stuff Fundies Like has become one of Jocelyn's favorite IFB survivor sites on the internet.
